SCHOLARSHIPS The Rotary Club of Del Rio is offering several academic and vocational scholarships for interested students. These scholarships are in honor of Mr. Arturo C. Gonzales and in memory of Mr. George M. Thurmond, Mr. David Trent and Mr. John Prude and are awarded to the most worthy individuals. The scholarships are classified as follows: ♦ Academic scholarships to high school students in Val Verde County for the college or university of their choice. ♦ Academic scholarships to students continuing a career at a college or university in Val Verde County. ♦ Vocational scholarships to students who are currently attending or plan to attend a vocational/technical school. Applications are available at the Del Rio High School counselor’s office, Southwest Texas Junior College, and Sul Ross State University in Del Rio and at Comstock High School. Academic Scholarships are for $1000 each and will be applied to the to the Fall 2008 semester. The Vocational Scholarships are for $500 each and are available for students attending a vocational/technical school or continuing college in Val Verde County.
